Dr. Klempner was recently the keynote speaker at the Smithown H.S. awards ceremony. He spoke to students, faculty and parents about his volunteer work with Operation Smile. He was pleased to accept a check for $700. from the students on behalf of Operation Smile.

On October 18, 2007, my wife Laurie and I began a 20 hour flight to Siagon (Ho Chi Minh City) Vietnam. We were going on behalf of Heath Volunteers Overseas (HVO), a non profit group of U.S. medical professionals that travel abroad to teach other medical professionals in third world countries. My role was to help the dental school faculty develop a graduate masters course in Orthodontics. Laurie, who is a registered nurse and nurse practitioner joined me for the first time and gave English classes to the first and second year dental students. The Vietnamese were very warm and friendly and extremely appreciative. This was my eleventh overseas mission. If you would like to see some of our photographs, click the link below.
